MODERN ENVELOPE
The entryway of this home was thoughtfully renovated to offer a contemporary interpretation of its original design while preserving its historic charm. Inspired by the original Homestead, we introduced a modern architectural envelope into the entry space, seamlessly integrating a sculptural plaster spiral staircase, hidden closet spaces, and an inviting transition to the second floor.
In the bedroom suite, the redesign enhances functionality, creating a smooth flow between the closet and bathroom. Closet walls create privacy screens between the bath and bedroom area. Original details, such as crown molding, were carefully retained and complemented by contemporary elements to establish a striking contrast. Additional molding, discreet curtain pockets and built in bookcases were incorporated to harmonize old and new, blending classic craftsmanship with modern sophistication. The result is a beautifully balanced transformation that respects the home’s legacy while embracing a refined, updated aesthetic suited to the homeowners’ lifestyle.
