RESTRAINED MODERNISM
Although built into the side of a steep and mature ravine, this home embraces a single floor lifestyle. The design balances the owners’ wish, something discreet and unique, but then again practical to accommodate their antique car and memorabilia collections.
A parking courtyard serves a dual purpose. It provides protection from the street yet allows the inner transparent surface to bath the interiors in light.
Mahogany windows warm the white stucco façade establishing the tone of the interiors, a subtle palette of white-on-whites and natural hardwood floors and trim.
A screened porch projects into the tree canopies midline, a ‘bird house’ per se, connecting the living spaces to a grilling terrace and blurring boundaries between indoor and outdoor living.
