FIFTIES LOVE AFFAIR
When the owners expressed a deep attachment to their 1950s ranch, the design approach became one of preservation through transformation.
Rather than demolish, the home was reimagined, honoring its nostalgic character while adapting it to an empty-nester lifestyle. A defining feature which inspired the work was its low sloped floating roofs.
The original architecture, defined by dark rooms, wood interiors, and black brick floors, was deconstructed to introduce much needed light to create a brighter environment highlighting the owners’ art and family history. The interiors were refreshed with lighter materials and contemporary finishes.
The result is a seamless balance of memory and modernity, where past and present quietly coexist.
